Residential Extension

Hirst Architects was comissioned to aquire Local Authority Planning Permission and provide a technical drawings package for the development of this existing single story bungalow into a two story property through an upwards extension and forwards extension of the front elevation of the property.

The challenge of this development was the question of how to extend whilst the clients family still occupied the existing property.

It was decided through thorough design itterations that the most practical way to achieve this was to build the new building over the top of the existing property, to create a building within a building.

The project achieved planning approval and progresed through construction.
